In the silence that follows the noise of war, something sacred blooms.
“The Flowers That Refuse to Die” is my latest zine, a deeply personal visual collection created to honour the memory of those we lost, and those of us still living with the weight of remembrance.
As a British Army veteran, Remembrance Day has never been just one day for me. It’s a feeling that lives in my bones. It’s every quiet moment when a poppy appears in the corner of a field, when a memory returns without warning, or when a soldier’s silhouette passes silently through your thoughts.
This zine is for the men and women who never came home, and for those of us who did but not quite whole.
Each image tells a story: of battlefield ghosts, of poppies blooming defiantly through the mud, of solitude and memory and quiet strength. These aren’t just war images. They’re about survival, grief, patriotism, and the strange, beautiful resilience of life.
I’ve used AI not as a gimmick but as a tool to transform memory into art. It’s a blend of lived truth, surreal beauty, and raw emotional symbolism.
This zine in A4 and US Letter sized PDF, can be viewed, shared, and printed all year round, not just on Remembrance Day.
Thank you, as always for your support.
For country. For the memories we carry.
